Fuelwood project!!!
Due on Tuesday 7th October - Presentation, alone, in pairs or as a 3
1) Define what is fuelwood is (in some places called wood fuel)
2) What uses does fuelwood have in LEDC countries?
3) What environmental impacts can burning fuelwood have?
4) What problems can burning fuelwood cause humans?
These questions can be answered from the usual sources…...
5) Research a case study of a country which has a problem with fuelwood. Consider:
Why is there a problem with fuelwood in that country?
What is the impact on the environment?
What is the impact on people?
What is being done about it?
There is some information on all of this in the text book which can be borrowed from Mr Howell
General info can also be found here but it is very wordy
For the case study:
One option is Bangladesh and there is information on this in the text book
Another option is Burkina Faso, although this link is very wordy
Another wordy but helpful example from Nepal
Another option is India, this might help you get started……..
